What we do not ask for
AuroraTripo has no accounts, no newsletter, no forms and no comments. There is nowhere on the site to type your name or your email address. We run no advertising trackers.
Measuring visits
We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read, so we know what to fix and what to write next. It sets cookies in your browser and sends Google technical data about your visit, such as the page you viewed, your approximate location, your browser and your device. We read the figures in aggregate and do not try to identify you. Google's own privacy policy applies to that data. You can block these cookies in your browser settings, and the site works the same without them.
What our host processes
The site is hosted on Cloudflare. To deliver a page, and to stop abuse, Cloudflare processes technical request data such as your IP address. This is how any web page reaches a browser. We do not use it to build a profile of you. Fonts and images are served from our own domain, so loading a page does not call a font or image service run by someone else.
The Tonight tool
The Tonight page asks our own server for the latest figures. Our server fetches the Kp forecast from NOAA and the cloud forecast from MET Norway and passes the result on. Your browser does not contact NOAA or MET Norway. The tool sends nothing about you and does not use your location. It shows the same twelve places to everyone.
Tour links
Tour links go to civitatis.com. Some links on this site lead to partner sites; if you book or buy through them, the site may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Civitatis has its own privacy policy and may set cookies once you click. From that point its rules apply, not ours. Other external links on the site go to official sources, which have their own policies too.
Language
Your language choice is part of the URL. Nothing is stored on your device to remember it.
Contact
If you write to us from the contact page, we receive your email address and whatever you write, and we use them to reply. Apart from the data described above, that is the only personal information that reaches us, and only if you choose to send it.
Changes
If any of this changes, this page will say so and carry a new date. The method behind our numbers is on the methodology page.
